Just like an oxford or a thesaurus which was compiled by some wise genius...god knows how many years before....This is my attempt to compile my kiddo's dictionary.....m sure i'll have to regularly update it....because it all depends on my child's whims :)
For starters, I was always told by elders, that the first actual word that a kid speaks is mamma/mom/amma/mummy/any word that represents mother.....but i was in for a shock...because Sam's first word was "pappa"....Imagine the happiness of the proud father :)
Anyways after a lot of coaxing, I guess she finally decided that she needed to show her gratitude...and she said "Mamma"....Phew !!!
And for the past few months, after a lot of understanding and misunderstanding, I have managed to compile a few words as her 1st dictionary :)...it might sound silly but i'm sure all the mom's out there would be as proud as me....no offence to the fathers :) .....
And here it starts...
1. Tataaaa/Baaaa - Her way of saying byeee
2. Kaakun - Thank You
3. Un - Anish (Her Uncle)
4. Nana - Navin (Her Uncle)
5. Ambeca - America (Imagine the shock for the americans)
6. Ennada - Canada
7. Enda - India
8. Papaka / Pakaka - Papaya
9. Babba - Bib
10. Booa - Food
11. Enthe - Enthiye (meaning "where")
12. Aaenna - Athu Enna (meaning "what's that")
13. Pappa pooi - Pappa Poyi (meaning "pappa has gone")
Baby talk can be awesome....but only when babies do that....strictly no no for adults :)
Will keep updating as and when a new word pops out of my kiddo's mouth ......
Until then don't forget your own vocabulary reading this :)
