Sam's Dictionary

Just like an oxford or a thesaurus which was compiled by some wise genius...god knows how many years before....This is my attempt to compile my kiddo's dictionary.....m sure i'll have to regularly update it....because it all depends on my child's whims :)

For starters, I was always told by elders, that the first actual word that a kid speaks is mamma/mom/amma/mummy/any word that represents mother.....but i was in for a shock...because Sam's first word was "pappa"....Imagine the happiness of the proud father :)

Anyways after a lot of coaxing, I guess she finally decided that she needed to show her gratitude...and she said "Mamma"....Phew !!!

And for the past few months, after a lot of understanding and misunderstanding, I have managed to compile a few words as her 1st dictionary :)...it might sound silly but i'm sure all the mom's out there would be as proud as me....no offence to the fathers :) .....

And here it starts...

1. Tataaaa/Baaaa - Her way of saying byeee
2. Kaakun - Thank You
3. Un - Anish (Her Uncle)
4. Nana - Navin (Her Uncle)
5. Ambeca - America (Imagine the shock for the americans)
6. Ennada - Canada
7. Enda - India
8. Papaka / Pakaka - Papaya
9. Babba - Bib
10. Booa - Food
11. Enthe - Enthiye (meaning "where")
12. Aaenna - Athu Enna (meaning "what's that")
13. Pappa pooi - Pappa Poyi (meaning "pappa has gone")

Baby talk can be awesome....but only when babies do that....strictly no no for adults :)

Will keep updating as and when a new word pops out of my kiddo's mouth ......

Until then don't forget your own vocabulary reading this :)

One year and Counting !!!

For those of you who are wondering who's Sam....lemme introduce my inspiration behind this blog....She has the most adorable eyes that I have ever seen...the most naughtiest smile anyone has ever smiled....the funniest dance move anyone has ever danced...she would beat Shakira any given day...my lil tipity tipity toes.......none other than my 17 month old angel "Samarah".....

Born on 25th September 2009.....all of 3 kgs.....she brought a whole new meaning of love and joy into our lives.....its been a wonderful journey watching this lil bundle of joy crossing each of her milestones....be it the day she turned over and lifted her head off the ground....or be it the day she first crawled (her own style of crawling on her stomach like a snake)....or the day she stood up and walked with & without support.....her first few words "mamma, pappa n tata"....its been a pleasure all along.....

One year and counting....and it seems like yesterday where myself, like all mothers had to go through the agony of bringing this new life into this world....words could never describe those feelings.....

I stopped working immediately after her birth, just to take care of her....Though I have given up so many things in life, things that made me what I am today, I don't regret it one bit.....though the feeling of loneliness n boredom manages to creep in once in a while, her warm smile when she wakes up makes it all worthwhile...

Hats off to all the proud mothers out there !!!!

My little one has woken up just in time to remind me "Time's Up"   :)
